Back to the Desert: Hexxed BitHeadz at DefCon 2025

Another year has flown by, and Hexxed BitHeadz is gearing up another week in Las Vegas for BSides / DefCon 2025! It’s that wonderful time of the year when we get to wind down and give ourselves a bit of a breather from the daily grind fueled by projects, learning and adulting. This is our 6th consecutive attendance to DefCon, and we have a lot to look forward to.

STICKERS!

Let’s get to the stickers first! When we started attending DefCon, we found ourselves immediately obsessed and fascinated with stickers. Not just any stickers of course, but like, hacker type stickers. You know, those that are meant to be on CTF laptop and immortalized on the DefCon Sticker Wall. Since then, we’ve been bringing stickers, however, there’s a lot that has changed for this year though. We’re no longer printing at home 🙏, we’ve been ordering our designs through Sticker Mule, hoarding them for several months, tweaking each design until it’s juuust right in prep for DefCon. From our new sticker store we are bringing several products to hand out for free to members of the best community ever. What you see in the image above are a variety of new designs we’ve done over the last year. We have holographic, glitter, cyberpunky/cyber related stickers. But that’s not all.. we also have some magnets, pins, keychains and coasters that turned out really well.

We are also bringing a couple of stickers to commemorate and dedicate to Kevin Mitnick. We’ve brought them in 2023 when he passed from Cancer. We’ve exchange these and it is something special to us since we can always find some people to talk and exchange stories with.

With that said, if you are reading this pre-DefCon, and see something you would really like to have, track us down! 👀 I’m sure one of us will have the logo visible in some aspect or hit us up on Bluesky / Reddit.

VOLUNTEERING

Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of volunteering at various conferences, with a special focus on the Red Team Village at DEF CON. It’s always an honor to give back and contribute to the experience, and we’re thrilled to be returning again to support the community however we can.

We’re also excited to share the NOOB Village has officially joined the DEF CON community, and we’re proud to be lending a hand there as well.

PasswordsCon at BSides

We’re incredibly excited- Izzny will be speaking at PasswordsCon, presenting her talk: “The HMAC Trap: Security or Illusion?” on August 4th.

🎉HEXXED BITHEADZ ANNIVERSARY!!!🎉

This time of the year is a little special for us. This is when we first bought our domain and began our project-blogging journey and identity as Hexxed BitHeadz right there in the halls of BSides Vegas, 2023. Since then, we have set out to hit a goal of providing some form of monthly blog. We tried hard to push our boundaries documenting our technical journeys every month. One really neat that happened for this year was that we got to go to BSides Buffalo and do our “A New Host Touches the Beacon” talk, now available on YouTube.

Each month, we feel as if we are starting to see ourselves grow and discover the next level of technical abilities. We have some fun ideas to get to and share. As of now, we’re really committed to the continued development of our GonkWare tool. We’re finding new ways to expand on this specific framework and can’t wait to shed some light on it after we return home and back to our routines.

This is all peeps! We are looking forward to meet new people and see what this Summer Hacker Camp brings to us this year.
